Wir, die Schüler, danken Herrn Neunemann und Frau Rammelt für diese 2 genialen Wochen und sind alle stolz darauf, was wir geschaffen haben. Sie haben die meiste Arbeit reingesteckt, uns zu verpflegen, zu unterhalten und unsere Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das ist ebenfalls eine Leistung, welche gewürdigt werden muss!

Like almost everyday, we started at 8 o’clock with breakfast. Tired from the 2 weeks of hard work and a bit sad because we had to go home today, we packed our clothes and loaded them into the car.Mr. Pohlemann, our school director, handed out our certifications to complete the successful participation. Then we all thanked Tatjana, the manager of our pension house, and took a last group photo in front of the pension.Between 9 and half past 10 we left for home. We are coming back!

We thank Mr. Neunemann and Mrs. Rammelt for these 2 brilliant weeks, we are all proud of what we have created. They put most of the work into employing us, entertaining us and fulfilling our wishes. This is also an achievement that must be appreciated!

Die „langsame“ Gruppe hat sich um 11 Uhr nach Banska begeben, wo sie ihre letzten Einkäufe tätigen konnten damit die Slowakei uns gut in Erinnerung bleibt. Als unsere Rucksäcke voll bepackt waren gingen wir nochmal schön zu Mittag essen, bevor wir uns zu einer Kirche Namens ,,Spania Dolinia“ begaben die mitten im Wald auf einem Berg gelegen war. Dort angekommen, mussten wir erstmal eine Treppe aus Massivholz erklimmen um den ersten tollen Ausblick hinunter ins Thal genießen zu können. Da uns das aber noch nicht genug war wollten wir weiter hinauf um noch mehr von der wunderschönen Landschaft und der Natur erblicken zu können. Als wir oben angekommen waren wurden wir mit einem tollen Wolkenschauspiel überrascht. Es hatte etwas Magisches wie der Nebel zwischen den Bäumen aus der Ferne Richtung Himmel aufstieg und so setzten wir uns hin und haben diesen Anblick einfach genossen. Als wir genug gerastet haben wollten wir auf einer etwas anderen Route wieder hinabsteigen. Wir gingen direkt durch den Wald, im Vertrauen darauf das uns die Trampelpfade den richtige Weg weisen. Vorbei an Pilzen, Moos und Bäumen fanden wir wieder den Weg zurück zum Auto und begaben uns zu einem letzten Besuch nach Banska wo an diesen Abend noch ein Lichterfest stattfinden sollte. Zuerst trafen wir uns aber alle in einem Restaurant Namens ,,Bistro 101“ wo wir alle uns nochmal satt aßen und die letzten Tage verbal Revue passieren ließen. Dann ging es zu den einzelnen Stationen auf dem Lichterfest, wobei die erste leider schon abgeschlossen war. Nichtsdestotrotz konnte durch den mutigen Einsatz einiger Passanten jedoch nochmal ein schönes Lichtspektakel mit Schatten und Rauch bewundert werden. Bei unseren nächsten Halt konnten wir ein animiertes Gesicht, untermalt mit Musik, bestaunen. Da wir alle ziemlich müde waren begaben wir uns dann zurück in die Pension um uns für die lange Fahrt am nächsten Tag ausruhen zu können. Wir verließen Banska mit einem lachenden und einem weinenden Auge und danken für die tollen Erfahrungen die wir machen durften.

On Friday our project was nearly finished. In the morning we were enabled to sleep until 9 a.m. and then have a relaxed breakfast. At this time we were already given the choice whether to ride in the slower bus or not. With the fast bus it started already at 10 o’clock. The first stop was at Tesco to buy some foods. Then, we went already further in the direction of Banska Stiavnica. When we arrived we had a look at the beautiful old town. After 30 minutes it was already over and so we drove on towards the castle. There we had a tour with a length of 2 hours. Mr. Neunemann and Marcus were recorded by the cameras there from the beginning, because they took pictures in the castle, but this was forbidden. So a security guard from the castle had to run after us and check the situation to see if everything was okay and if we continued to take pictures. The nice tour guide was annoyed of the two. After the 2-hour tour was over, we were all hungry. So we went to a good restaurant with Halusky specialties . Actually they tasted very good. After dinner we drove to Spania Dolina. There we already saw the others improving their social skills. Mr. Neunemann has chased us up the stairs of the church in Spania Dolina. So we were then in the forest and could look at the beautiful nature. Mr Neunemann came up with the glorious idea of collecting mushrooms after seeing a few of them. After a few minutes, the bag was full of mushrooms. After collecting the mushrooms we went back down to the bus so we can get back to the pension in Kraliky.

The slower group drove to Banska at 11am where they got the last chance to buy some stuff they need so they will remember Slovakia in a good way. After our backpacks were filled, we have had lunch before continuing our way to a church called „Spania Dolinia“, which was in a forest on a mountain.We arrived there and had to take some wooden stairs for the first great landscape view. But this wasn’t enough for us so we went higher to see more of this great nature. On the top we saw fog between the trees rising up to the heaven and this looked really awesome. We took a different way back to the car. This time we gone through the forest and hoped that the trails will lead us to the right point. And yeah it was the right way for people that collect mushrooms but also for us to get back to the car.Later we drove to Banska a last time where a show of lights was organized. But before looking for this „show“ we had a nice dinner in a restaurant named „Bistro 101“ where we ate and talked a lot about the last 2 weeks. Then we visited some of the places where the light show was arranged. Even if the show was over on the first place we could see some smoke and shadow effects thanks to some passers. On the next place we were able to see an animated face and listen to music.Since we all were very tired we decided to go back to the pension to prepare for the way back to Germany. We left Banska but all the experiences will stay!

Währenddessen bekamen die Lehrer eine extra Führung durch den Schulleiter Herr Balogh.

Nachdem alle wieder in der Pension waren, fuhren wir zusammen in die Stadt um dort den Nachmittag zu verbringen.

Wir aßen Mittag im Restaurant Klubovna und führten danach die Lehrer vom Monitoring durch Banská Bystrica.

Wir zeigten ihnen die Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Kirche des heiligen Franziskus Xaverius, das Rathaus, den Bischofspalast und den Uhrenturm, den wir zum Schluss mit seinen 101 Stufen bestiegen.

Mit der letzten Stärkung in Form von einem Eis, traten wir den Rückweg an, um die Abschlusspräsentation zu finalisieren.

Als Überraschung luden uns Matej, Jano und Katka zu einem selbstgekochten slowakischen Nationalgericht ein. Sie bereiteten für uns leckeres Bryndzové halušky (Haluschky) vor.

Anschließend eröffnete Herr Pohlemann unsere Abschlussfeier mit der Begrüßung unserer Gäste wie den Schulleiter Ing. Štefan Balogh, die Stellvertreterin Ing. Miriam Popovičová, Ökonom Ing. Blažej Rybár, Mgr. art. Matej Opálený , Ján Kasan, Ing. Katarína Štrónerová.

Danach stellten wir unser Projekt vor, in der jeder seinen Bereich, in dem er sich eingebracht hat, vorstellen konnte. Mit Herrn Balogh zeigten wir, wie sich die Tür mittels Gesichtserkennung und Chip öffnet, um in das Haus zu gelangen. Ein von uns erstelltes Video zeigte unseren Gästen, wie wir unsere Zeit in der Slowakei verbracht haben.

Nach Beendigung unserer Präsentation unterschrieben Herr Pohlemann und Herr Balogh einen neuen Partnerschaftsvertrag, der die zukünftige Zusammenarbeit unseren beider Schulen besiegelte.

In geselliger Runde ließen wir den Abend ausklingen und steigerten diesmal zusammen unsere sozialen Kompetenzen 😊

After a rich breakfast in the guesthouse we started the last task for the project and the final presentation.

Meanwhile the teachers were given an extra tour by the headmaster Mr. Balogh.

After all were back in the pension, we drove together to the city to spend the afternoon there.

We ate lunch in the restaurant Klubovna and then led the teachers of the monitoring through Banská Bystrica.

We showed them the sights like the church of St. Francis Xaverius, the town hall, the bishop’s palace and the clock tower, which we climbed at the end with its 101 steps.

With the last refreshment in the form of an ice cream, we started our way back to finalize the final presentation.

As a surprise, Matej, Jano and Katka invited us to a homemade Slovak national dish. They prepared delicious Bryndzové halušky (Haluschky) for us.

Afterwards Mr. Pohlemann opened our graduation ceremony with the greeting of our guests like the headmaster Ing. Štefan Balogh, the deputy Ing. Miriam Popovičová, economist Ing. Blažej Rybár, Mgr. art. Matej Opálený , Ján Kasan, Ing. Katarína Štrónerová.

Then we presented our project, in which everyone could present his or her area of involvement. With Mr. Balogh we showed how the door could be opened by face recognition and chip to get into the house. A video we made showed our guests how we spent our time in Slovakia.

At the end of our presentation Mr. Pohlemann and Mr. Balogh signed a new partnership agreement, which sealed the future cooperation between our two schools.

In a convivial round we let the evening fade away and this time together we improved our social skills 😊

Das finale Modell weicht leider unserem virtuell erstellten 3D-Modell ab. Fazit: wir bleiben in der virtuellen Welt, denn diese ist einfach immer viel schöner als die Realität.

Beim Systemtest stellte sich dann heraus, dass wir in der Hektik auch noch das OLED Display falschrum rein klebten… Naja, unsere hoch qualifizierte und kompetente Softwareabteilung wird das schon machen.

Zumindest war das Modell nun transportfähig. So konnten wir dann im „Little House“ daran weiterarbeiten. Dort wurden dann noch bis um 1 Uhr in der Nacht die fehlenden Softwareelemente programmiert. Den letzten Feinschliff bekam die Weboberfläche sogar noch am Tag Präsentation.
Insgesamt gesehen haben wir einen sehr coolen Prototypen gebastelt, den man weiter ausbauen kann. Ideen gibt es noch eine ganze Menge…

During the last day we glued all the parts, which weren’t properly dried. To Bad that the hot glue wouldn´t stuck as good as hoped on half of the dried parts. Therefore a optical difference between the glued product and the 3D model arouse. Conclusion: we remain to the virtual world, which is always much more beautifuller than the real world.During the system test it turned out that we glued the OLED display in a false position… Well, our highly qualified and competent programmers will solve it.

At least the model was now transportable.Therefore we were able to continue our work at the „Little House“ . There we programmed the missing software elements in the night, until 1 a.m.The website even got it’s finishing touches at the day of the presentation. In the end we built a pretty cool prototype, which can even be extended much further. There are still lots of ideas left…

Durch den großen Fortschritt hatten wir uns eine kleine Pause verdient und besuchten die Urpiner Brauerei bei Banska Bystrica.

Als erstes zeigte man uns das Lager, danach ging es in die Produktion. Dort wird das alkoholfreie Nealko produziert. Für uns war der Höhepunkt das Beobachten des Roborterarms, der die Fässer mit einer Leichtigkeit hin und her beförderte. Da kam gleich die Frage auf, wie das wohl in der Programmierung aussieht… Und was man daraus noch alles programmieren kann.

Weiter ging es in die Produktionshalle, in der gerade Dosenbier befüllt wurde. Leider durften wir dort keine Bilder machen.

Die nächste Station waren die Braukessel, riesengroß und leider nicht befüllt. Dort haben wir erfahren, was aus Gerste und Malz alles werden kann. Darum gingen wir gleich weiter in den Keller und durften das leckere, ungefilterte Bier probieren.

Am Ende der Führung wurden wir im Lager noch jeder mit einen Paket von vier verschiedenen Sorten des Bieres verabschiedet.

After a lot of work on our project, it is high time to stick the parts together.

With a huge progress we had a well-deserved break and visited the Urpiner brewery in Banska Bystrica.

First stop was a warehouse, after that the production facility was next. Where the non-alcoholic Nealko got produced. The highlight for us, was the automated robotic arm, who transported the barrels with ease. The question arouse, how does it look in the program… and what was possible to do else with it.  

Next was the production hall, where the can beer was filled in. Sadly, we weren´t allowed to take pictures.

The next station was the brewery, the boilers have an enormous size but they were empty. We learnt what can be done with barley and malt. With no hesitation we went into the cellar to have a taste of the unfiltered and delicious beer.

At end of our tour we went into the next warehouse where everyone got a packet with four different sorts of the beer as a farewell gift. 

Am Freitag wurden die Platinen für den ESP32 und den Raspberry Pi mit den Steckplätzen und Pins verlötet. Die Verbindungen mit den Steckplätzen und Pins wurden mittels „chirurgischer“ Präzision und Geduld via dünne Drähte hergestellt. Während die Schaltung für den Pi simpler ausfiel, war die Schaltung von ESP32 komplizierter und benötigte etwas mehr Zeit.

Am Montag war dann auch die Platine für den ESP fertig und bereit für einen ersten Testlauf. Neben den RFID-Sensor, Schallsensor, den Piepser und dem Display, kamen dann noch ein Taster für die Aktivierung und Deaktivierung der Alarmanlage und ein Motor für die automatische Türöffnung hinzu. Beim Pi hatte sich allerdings ein Fehler in die Schaltung eingeschlichen und führte zu einer Fehlfunktion des OLED Displays.

Mit ein paar Überstunden und der Steigerung der sozialen Kompetenzen wurden neue Ideen und Lösungen für die Schaltung des Raspberry gefunden.

Am Dienstag wurden bei der ESP-Schaltung die zwei zusätzlichen Komponenten mit verkabelt und die Platine für den Raspberry neuverlötet. Nach ein paar Minuten waren die Platinen endgültig fertig und konnten ausgiebig getestet werden. Alle Komponenten wurden angesprochen und die Signale wie geplant übertragen. Die beiden Teile waren somit bereit für den weiteren Schritt in das fertige Modell.

At the same day the wiring plans for the Raspberry Pi and the ESP32-Chip were designed.

On Friday the plugs and pins were soldered on the platins for the ESP32 and the Raspberry Pi. With “surgical” precision and patience the connections for the plugs and pins were made with thin wires. Whilst the wiring of the Pi was simpler, the ESP32 was more complex und needed a little bit more time.

On Monday, the platin for the ESP was finished and ready for the first test. In addition to the RFID-sensor, sound sensor, the peeper und the display, a trigger for turning on and off of the alarm system and a motor for the automatic door opener were included. However, an error was made in the wiring of the Pi, which let to a malfunction of the OLED-display.

With a little bit overtime and increasing the social competence, new ideas and solutions were found for the Raspberry wiring.

On Tuesday, the two new components were added to the ESP-platin, whilst the platin for the Raspberry got resoldered. After a few minutes both platins were finished and were ready for the first real tests. All components got acknowledged and the signals were sent as planned. Both parts were ready for inclusion into the finished miniature.

Nachdem wir viele Fortschritte am Projekt erarbeitet hatten, gönnten wir uns einen Besuch in der Artikularkirche in Hronsek.

Diese evangelische Kirche bestand nur aus Holz und wurde im Jahr 1726 errichtet.
Dank der „Führung“ erfuhren wir die früheren Bedingungen für den Bau der Kirche:

• nur aus Holz
• innerhalb eines Jahres gebaut
• keine Metallnägel
• kein Turm
  

2008 wurde sie zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe.

Im oberen Teil befand sich eine Orgel, die wir ausgiebig getestet haben. (siehe Bild)

Leider bekamen wir keinen Ton aus ihr heraus. 😉

Nach der Führung sind wir zurück zur Pension gefahren, um den weiteren Abend zu planen. Unsere Lehrer holten in dieser Zeit unseren Schulleiter Herr Pohlemann, die Abteilungsleiterin Frau Jungheinrich und den Lehrer Herr von Hornbostel vom Bahnhof ab.

Die Entscheidung nach dem passenden Restaurant fiel uns schwer, schlussendlich fanden wir dennoch ein leckeres Restaurant Namens „Frais“ und kamen satt zurück.

Danach arbeiteten wir weiter an unseren sozialen Kompetenzen.

As always, we started the day with a delicious breakfast.

After we had made a lot of progress on the project, we allowed ourselves a visit to the Artikularkirche in Hronsek.

The evangelical church is only made of wood and was built in 1726.

Thanks to the “tour” we learned for the requirements the church as built under:

• Wood only
• Only 1-year building time
• No iron nails
• No Tower

In the upper part, there was an organ which we tested extensively.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a sound out of her. 😉

After the tour we drove back to our pension, to plan the rest of the evening. During this time our teachers picked up our headmaster Mr. Pohlemann, the department head Mrs. Jungheinrich and the teacher Mr. von Hornbostel from the train station.

The decision to find a suitable restaurant was difficult, but in the end, we found a delicious restaurant called „Frais“ and came back full.

After that, we continued to work on our social skills.

Wir besuchten die Burg „Lipscha“ in Slovenská Ľupča. Dort wurden wir durch die Burg geführt. Die Burg wurde von „Béla IV of Hungary“ im 13. Jahrhundert erbaut. Wir gingen durch die verschiedenen Räume der Burg und hatten oft einen schönen Ausblick auf die Stadt. In einem der Räume fanden wir ein altes Gemälde. Als sich Andreas daneben stellte, konnte man eine starke Ähnlichkeit feststellen. Wie alt ist er nun wirklich?

Am Eingang stand ein großer alter Baum, uns wurde gesagt das dieser seit 750 Jahren dort steht und schon mehrere Blitzeinschläge überlebt hat.

„Die Burg Ľupča steht über dem Dorf Slovenská Ľupča. Es ist die höchstgelegene Burg in der Region Hron (Pohronie). Die Burg wurde an der Nordseite einer relativ schmalen Hron-Falte erbaut, die im Süden von den Hängen des Slowakischen Erzgebirges (Slovenské Rudohorie) und im Norden von den Hängen der Niederen Tatra begrenzt wird. Der älteste Teil des Schlosses ist auf einem isolierten Felsen auf dem letzten Hügel der Niederen Tatra mit einer Höhe von 375 m über dem Meeresspiegel errichtet.“

Nach der Führung gingen wir in die Stadt und holten uns jeder 2 große Pizzastückchen, um eine kleine Stärkung zu bekommen. An der Seite standen 3 kleine Schälchen mit verschiedenen Soßen. Eine davon war eine Knoblauchsoße, welche unsere Knoblauchfans mehr als großzügig verputzten.

Nach unserer Stärkung fuhren wir wieder in die Schule, um weiter an unserem Projekt zu arbeiten. Fertig mit der heutigen Arbeit, fuhren wir nach „Dolný Harmanec“ in das Restaurant „Cierna Ovca“ zum Abendessen.

Due to some difficulties, with building the model, we stayed longer than usual to find a solution to our problem, so everything can be done in time. Therefore, we kept our free-time activities short

We visited the castle “Lipscha” in Slovenská Ľupča. There we were guided through the castle, which was built by “Béla IV of Hungary” in the 13th century. We walked through the various rooms of the castle and had a beautiful view of the town. In one room we found an old painting. When Andreas stood next by, we found a strong similarity. How old is he really?

Close to the entrance, we found an old tree, which is said to be around 750 years old and has survived multiple lightning strikes. After the tour, we went to the city, where everyone ate 2 big slices of pizza. To the side there where 3 bows with different sauces. One of it was garlic sauce, which the garlic lover in our group really enjoyed.

After strengthening, we went back to school to continue working on our project. Done with work, we drove to the restaurant “Cierna Ovca” in “Dolný Harmanec” to eat dinner.

Das ist ein Nationalpark im slowakischen Erzgebirge. Hier ist eine Landschaft mit tiefen Schluchten und wundervollen Wasserfällen mit 300 km Wanderwege.

Wir starteten unser Tour um 8.30 Uhr um die Kysel-Ferrata zu durchqueren.

Nach zweistündiger Fahrt durch die Berge liehen wir uns dort eine Kletterausrüstung und liefen los.

Zuerst mussten wir 2 Stunden den Fluss entlang bis zu der Schlucht laufen.

An der Felswand kletterten wir oberhalb des Flussbettes durch die Schlucht. Abenteuerlich war der Aufstieg. Wir kletterten über quer liegende Holzstämme, balancierten über Steine und holten uns sogar nasse Füße. Die Schlucht verließen wir über Steigeisen an einen ca. 30 m hohen Wasserfall.

Der dreistündige Rückweg verlief über einen Bergkamm. Mit herrlichen Blick, rechter Hand auf die Schlucht und linker Hand auf die Tatra, wurde auch der Rückweg zu einen schönen Erlebnis.

Müde und erschöpft aßen wir dort Abendbrot und fuhren dann nach Hause.

Today we went to a Slovak paradise for hiking.

It is a national park in the Slovak mountains, with deep ravines and waterfalls and up to 300km of trails.

We started our tour at 8:30 o clock to pass through the Kysel-Ferrata.

After 2 hours of driving around the mountains, we rented climbing gear. After we got the gear to climb, we started walking for 2 hours next to the riverside, until we reached the ravine.

Next to the walls of the ravine, we climbed close to the surface of the river. The climb was very adventurous. We climbed over trunks that blocked our way and were balancing on stones, to cross the river. We left the ravine with the help of climbing irons next to 30m high waterfall.

On our three-hour way back, we had to walk over the mountains ridge. With a beautiful view, on the right-hand side the deep ravine we climbed, and to the left-hand side the Tatra, the way back turned into a nice experience.

Tired and exhausted we ate dinner there and then drove back home.

Wir lernten schnell zusammen zu bleiben. Die Übereifrigen fuhren einen steilen Berg wieder zurück, weil Sie falsch abbogen. Als alle wieder auf dem richtigen Weg waren, machten wir in einem Restaurant eine wohlverdiente Pause. Wer wollte, konnte dort auf einen Turm steigen und die Aussicht von ganz oben genießen.

Ab da ging es entspannt weiter, da wir nur noch bergab fuhren. Ein paar hatten Ihren Spaß und rasten fröhlich den Berg hinunter. Andere hatten weniger Vergnügen, da auf Grund fehlender Bremsbelege die Bremsen glühten.

Unten angekommen, haben wir die Fahrräder in einen von Matej organisierten Transporter eingeladen. Mit diesem Auto fuhren Matej, Frau Rammelt und Herr Neunemann zurück nach Donovaly und gaben die Fahrräder wieder ab. Auch der Transporter war nicht ganz fehlerfrei. Herr Neunemann musste Fahrt festellen, dass der Schaltknüppel ein bisschen zu flexibel war. (siehe Bild) :).

Währenddessen konnten wir die Stadt unsicher machen und warteten auf die „Rückkehr der Lehrer“. Als diese ankamen, gingen wir in das Restaurant Kuria zum Abendessen. Müde und satt fuhren wir zu unserer Unterkunft zurück um unsere sozialen Kompetenzen weiter zu stärken.

Today in the morning  at half-past eight we drove to Donovaly, to rent bicycles for our tour. Target: driving 25 Km from Donovaly to Banska Bystrica. On the trek, we passed many sighting points, wich gave us beautifull sights over the landscape. Against small inconveniences like a broken chain and brake, loose pedals and hand bars. It was a funny tour thanks to Matejs repairing skills.

We learnt quickly staying together. The overenthusiastic of our group drove a steep hill back, because they went the wrong way. After everyone found back to the group, we made a well deserverd rest at local restaurant. If someone wanted, they could go on top of a tower and enjoy the sight.

From where it was easy, because it goes downhill, a few had fun while speeding down the mountain. Other had less fun, with glowing brakes and no brake lining.

Arrived at the mountain foot, we packed the bicycles into transporter wich was organized by Matej. With the transporter Matej, Mrs. Rammelt and Mr. Neunemann back to Donovaly and gave back the rented bicycles. Even the transporter wasn´t flawless. Mr. Neunemann realized during the ride, that the gear lever was a little bit loose (look at the picture :)).

In the meantime we could go nuts in the city and waited for „the return of the teacher“. Then they arrived, we went into the restaurant „Kuria“ for dinner. Tired and stuffed we drove back to our accomondation, to strengthen our social competences.
